Our story Combustion Performance Inc.
Founded in 2017 in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Combustion Performance Inc. began as a one-man operation in a sea can behind a house at 1611. Since then, it has grown into one of the most recognized and respected powersports and mechanical service providers in the North.
What started as a survival story for founder Gabriel Choquette has become a community-driven mission: to train, employ, and empower Inuit across all sectors while building a sustainable, local ecosystem that supports long-term economic growth in Nunavut.
Combustion Performance Inc. specializes in servicing powersports equipment, small engines, and general automotive repairs—offering dependable work that reflects Northern realities. The company expanded through a pivotal partnership with Polartec Recreation in 2020, followed by the acquisition of Siktu Sales and Services in 2022/2023, a business with 25 years of history in the region.
Combustion’s focus goes far beyond machines. The company is actively developing career paths for Inuit workers—from technicians and parts clerks to logistics, administration, and management roles. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and strong partnerships, Combustion aims to create opportunities where few exist and build a self-reliant economy in the Arctic.
With roots in Iqaluit and expansion across Nunavut, Combustion Performance Inc. continues to grow with purpose—committed to high-quality service, honest work, and uplifting the people who call the North home.
